Purpose Maker LLC Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 4, 2026
1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Purpose Maker LLC ("Purpose Maker," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
This policy applies to information we collect through purposemaker.com and related websites, our podcast, newsletter, and social media pages, and through our mentoring, consulting, retreats, events, courses, books, and other services (together, the "Services"). It covers information collected online and offline, including at events, by phone, by email, and by mail.
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
-
Contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address;
-
Purchase and registration details, such as the Services you buy or register for, billing address, and transaction history (payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processors, not stored by us);
-
Account details, such as your username and password, if you create an account;
-
Organization details, such as your employer, title, and team, if you or your organization engage us;
-
Mentoring and consulting information, such as goals, assessments, notes, and other information you share during an engagement;
-
Retreat and event information, such as dietary needs, emergency contacts, accessibility needs, and any health or safety information you choose to provide so we can plan safely;
-
Communications and submissions, such as messages, survey responses, comments, reviews, and testimonials.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Site or open our emails, we and our service providers may collect device and usage information, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring websites, approximate location based on IP address, and whether you opened an email. We collect this through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies described in Section 5.
Information from others. We may receive information from service providers (such as payment and scheduling platforms), from social media platforms when you interact with our pages, from podcast and analytics platforms in aggregate form, and from your organization if it enrolls you in a Service.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
-
provide, deliver, and personalize the Services, including mentoring, consulting, retreats, and events;
-
process purchases, registrations, and payments;
-
communicate with you about your account, purchases, sessions, and events;
-
send newsletters, podcast updates, and offers you have signed up for, and remind you about an incomplete checkout;
-
plan safe and accessible retreats and events;
-
understand how the Site and our content are used so we can improve them;
-
measure the effectiveness of our marketing and show relevant ads, as described in Section 5;
-
publish testimonials, only with your permission;
-
protect the security of the Services, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service; and
-
comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade our email lists. We share personal information only as described below:
-
Service providers. We use trusted vendors to help run our business, such as website hosting, email and newsletter delivery, payment processing, scheduling, online course or community platforms, podcast hosting, analytics, and customer support tools. They may use your information only to perform services for us and must protect it.
-
Retreat and event partners. When needed to run an event, we may share limited information, such as names and dietary or accessibility needs, with venues, caterers, or lodging providers.
-
Your organization. If your organization enrolls you in a Service, we may share attendance and general progress with it as agreed in the engagement. We do not share the content of private mentoring conversations without your permission, except as required by law or to address a serious safety concern.
-
Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Purpose Maker LLC, our clients, or others.
-
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred to the successor, which will be bound by this policy for that information.
-
With your consent. We may share information for other purposes when you ask us to or give permission.
Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Pixels (also called web beacons) are small pieces of code in web pages and emails. We use them to keep the Site working, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the Site, and measure whether our emails and ads are effective.
Analytics. We may use Google Analytics and similar tools to understand Site traffic and usage. These tools collect information such as pages visited and time on the Site, and report it to us mostly in aggregate form.
Advertising and remarketing. We may use advertising tools from Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), including remarketing, which lets us show ads to people who have visited our Site, and demographic and interest reporting. These companies may use their own cookies and identifiers, governed by their own privacy policies. We use the resulting information to measure and improve our campaigns, not to sell it.
Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some Site features may not work properly. You can also:
-
manage Google ad personalization at Google Ad Settings;
-
opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on;
-
manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook ad settings; and
-
opt out of interest-based ads from many companies through the Network Advertising Initiative and the Digital Advertising Alliance.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. There is no common industry standard for responding to browser "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not currently respond to them. Where required by applicable law, we will treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of targeted advertising for that browser.
6. Email and Text Communications
Email. We send newsletters and promotional emails only to people who sign up, purchase, register, or otherwise ask to hear from us. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We will still send messages about your purchases, account, sessions, or events.
Text messages. If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may send messages about sessions, events, and updates, including automated messages. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Agreeing to marketing texts is never a condition of purchase. We do not share mobile numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties for their own marketing.
7. Mentoring, Retreats, and Sensitive Information
Mentoring confidentiality. We treat what you share in private mentoring and consulting sessions as confidential. We use it only to provide the Services to you and do not publish it or share it outside Purpose Maker LLC without your permission, except as described in Section 4 for legal and safety reasons.
Retreat and event information. Health, dietary, accessibility, and emergency contact information you provide for an event is used only to plan for your safety and comfort. It is shared only with staff and event partners who need it, and is deleted or securely archived after the event, as described in Section 9.
Disclosures by other participants. Our Terms of Service ask retreat and event participants to keep each other's personal disclosures confidential. We cannot guarantee that every participant will do so.
Photos and recordings. We may photograph or record events as described in our Terms of Service. We will tell attendees how to opt out of appearing in published materials, and we publish testimonials with your name, image, or likeness only with your permission.
Please limit sensitive information. Do not send us sensitive information, such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or detailed medical history, unless we specifically ask for it.
8. Separation from Discover Chiropractic
Purpose Maker LLC is a separate company from Discover Chiropractic MBS, P.C. (Discover Chiropractic / Northern Michigan Spine). Purpose Maker does not provide healthcare, is not a healthcare provider covered by HIPAA, and does not have access to patient health records from any clinical practice. Information you share with Purpose Maker is not shared with Discover Chiropractic, and patient information held by Discover Chiropractic is not shared with Purpose Maker, unless you separately and expressly authorize it.
9. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, such as providing the Services, keeping business and tax records, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. Retreat health and emergency information is deleted or securely archived after the event unless we need it to address an incident. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
10. How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, such as limiting access to people who need it and using reputable service providers that secure their systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential.
11. Your Choices and Rights
You may ask us to:
-
tell you what personal information we hold about you;
-
correct inaccurate information;
-
delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law or for legitimate business reasons;
-
stop sending you marketing emails or texts; or
-
stop using your information for targeted advertising.
To make a request, email us at the address in Section 16. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy choices.
12. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us at the address in Section 16.
13. State Privacy Rights and Visitors Outside the United States
State privacy laws. Some U.S. states give residents additional privacy rights, such as rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of targeted advertising. Where those laws apply to us, we will honor requests as they require. You may use the process in Section 11 to make any request.
International visitors. Purpose Maker LLC is based in the United States, and our Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
14. Third-Party Sites and Public Posting
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, platforms, and services, such as podcast apps, social media, payment processors, and venues. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
Information you post publicly, such as comments on our social media pages or public reviews, can be seen and used by others. We are not responsible for how others use information you choose to make public.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on the Site and change the effective date above. For material changes, we will give reasonable advance notice, such as by email or a prominent notice on the Site, as described in our Terms of Service. Your continued use of the Services after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
